Asset discovery · runZero
Asset discovery and visibility, with runZero
Growth Hub distributes runZero across Africa. runZero finds what is connected to a network, including the devices nobody has inventoried, without installing agents on them or needing credentials. Organisations in South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Morocco and Egypt evaluate and buy it through our reseller partners, with technical support from us and from runZero.
The problem
The inventory rarely matches the network
Most asset inventories are built from what is already managed: the endpoints with an agent, the servers in the asset register, the cloud accounts someone remembers. What sits outside those lists is what an attacker looks for first.
Where it tends to show up:
- Operational technology and building systems connected without going through IT
- Acquisitions and subsidiaries, where networks were joined faster than they were documented
- Branch, site and remote networks nobody has looked at in years
- Cloud and virtual assets created outside the usual provisioning process
- Audits and regulatory reviews that ask for an inventory the organisation cannot produce with confidence
- Segmentation projects that need to know what sits on each side before rules can be written
What runZero does
What the technology helps you accomplish
-
Find what is connected, without agents
runZero combines active scanning, passive discovery and integrations with the tools already in place. Nothing is installed on the assets being discovered, and no credentials are needed to find them.
-
Know what each asset is
Fingerprinting identifies what each device is, what it runs and what role it plays, including the unmanaged devices that never appear in an agent console.
-
Include OT and IoT safely
runZero's scanning is designed to be safe for sensitive devices, so industrial and connected systems sit in the same inventory as IT, cloud, mobile and remote assets.
-
See where the risk is
runZero relates assets to each other and to their internet exposure, so findings such as end-of-life systems, unexpected services and gaps in segmentation can be prioritised by where an asset sits and what it does.
Evaluation
What a proof of value involves
-
Agree scope and success criteria
The reseller partner works with you to choose the networks, sites and environments to include, and what the evaluation needs to show.
-
Deploy and discover
A runZero Explorer is installed on one host in each network to be scanned. The assets themselves need nothing installed, and discovery starts once the Explorer is in place.
-
Review the findings
Together we compare what runZero found with your existing inventory, and go through the unmanaged assets, exposures and gaps it surfaced.
-
Decide on next steps
Licensing is arranged through the reseller partner, who also scopes any remediation work the findings call for.
The reseller partner leads every proof of value. Growth Hub and runZero provide the technical support behind it.

Getting started
How to begin
-
If you are an end user
Tell us where you operate and what you need to find out. We will connect you with a reseller partner in your market to arrange an evaluation, purchase and implementation. If you already work with a reseller, tell us who, and we will work through them.
-
If you are a reseller
If you want to offer runZero to your customers, we work with up to three partners per vendor in each country and support each one with training, engineering shadowing and technical support on proofs of value.
What to include
- The country or countries you operate in
- Your organisation and sector
- The environments in scope: IT, OT, IoT, cloud, remote sites
- Roughly how many sites or networks are involved
- What prompted the question: an audit, a segmentation project, an incident, or simply not knowing
- Your reseller, if you already have one

Where asset discovery leads
Discovery is the first of the questions our portfolio answers about the same exposure.
- External attack surface management, with Censys: what of the estate is reachable from the internet.
- Microsegmentation and containment, with Zero Networks: limiting what can move once an attacker is inside.
- Exposure assessment: the outside-in and inside views together, with containment for what cannot be fixed quickly.
- Current engagements: where we are working, by problem, organisation type and stage.
